This solar structure was an interesting one. Being in Oregon, the city engineer called out for a steel structure that could handle wind and snow loads so there was some pretty heavy duty steel involved. The client had also recently fired the Framer with good reason. You can tell by the offsets of the vertical supports that nothing was framed correctly. The client sent me the engineer's plans and after working with the engineer, client, and fabricator to come up with some more cost effective solutions, I drew a set of fabrication drawings for the steel fabricator to work with. All in all, it was a very interesting project.
